Taunton, MA…Thursday on the Taunton Green Representative Geoff Diehl, the endorsed Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, announced the endorsement of Rep. Shaunna O’Connell, Taunton City Councilor John McCaul, Bristol County Sheriff Tom Hodgson, Taunton City Councilor Jeff Postell and prominent business owner Ed Correria.

“I am proud to have the endorsement of Rep. O’Connell, Sheriff Hodgson, Ed Correria and City Councilors McCaul and Postell.  With this support we are going to win Taunton and Bristol County big!,” said Diehl.

“I have had the honor of working with Geoff for 7 years.  He is a thoughtful and caring Representative who always puts people first,” said O’Connell.  “I admire his courage to take on the special interest groups to repeal automatic gas tax hikes that saved taxpayers $2 billion.”

Diehl and O’Connell have worked together on many important issues at the State House including restoring term limits for the Speaker of the House, requiring more transparency in the legislative process, fighting illegal immigration, prohibiting tax dollars for the Olympics, and strengthening public safety for children.

“Geoff is the only candidate with serious plans on ending illegal immigration, fighting the opioid epidemic, helping our veterans and growing our economy.  He will be an asset and strong advocate for Taunton and all of Bristol County,” said McCaul.

“Having owned and operated a business for several decades.  I know how government bureaucracy can dampen growth.  That’s why we need a Senator who will be a partner for us in Washington.  I am pleased to endorse Geoff Diehl for U.S. Senate,” said Correria.

“I admire Geoff’s courage to take on the status quo.  We need someone with backbone to do what is right for the people.  Taxpayers can count on Geoff Diehl to fight for them in Washington,” said Postell.

Diehl has been focused on this area.  He has toured General Dynamics and Taunton State Hospital.  Earlier in the day, Diehl toured JW Fisher and Associates of Human Service.

Diehl has promised to be accessible to Taunton by using his RV to be a mobile office so area residents don’t have to travel to Boston to see their Senator.

Diehl has been picking up significant momentum statewide and big endorsements.  Monday, the Boston Herald endorsed Diehl and former Presidential candidate Herman Cain announced his full support. Diehl is the only candidate to receive law enforcement support.

Diehl has a growing list of coalitions that includes: Veterans for Diehl, Women for Diehl, Cambodians for Diehl, Cape Codders for Diehl, Middlesex for Diehl, and, now, Worcester for Diehl.

Diehl won the Republican convention by a thirty- point margin.  He has been earning many endorsements including: the Watertown Republican Town Committee, the Hanson Republican Town Committee, the Bourne Republican Town Committee, the East Bridgewater Republican Town Committee, the Dighton Republican Town Committee, Boston Ward 9 Republican Committee, the Somerville Republican City Committee, the Whitman Republican Town Committee, the Dracut Republican Town Committee, Representatives Jim Lyons, Marc Lombardo, Lenny Mirra, Shaunna O’Connell, Nick Boldyga and Peter Durant, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich,  Sheriffs Tom Hodgson and Jim Cummings, Youth Conservatives of Massachusetts, all of the Sudbury delegates to the convention, former New England Patriots Fred Smerlas, Steve Grogan, and Matt Light, Red Sox Champion Curt Schilling, comedian Lenny Clark and broadcaster John Dennis, to name a few.  Diehl was the first candidate to receive a major law enforcement endorsement. The Norfolk County Correction Officers have thrown their weight behind Diehl.
